What little solace, if any, is that you wake up with several coins on the nightstand next to your bed. Perhaps you should try putting them in that mask in the salon? You might receive some interesting gifts....]

[Normally there isn't music coming from the lounge area, so that piques Tadashi's interest right away. He's got a stack of books from the library that he dumps onto a nearby chair before he goes to check out the source of the music, leaning over the top of the chair..]

[Tadashi! They keep missing each other in the halls, so she hasn't really had time to talk to him yet. That look of... hurt? Worry? Whatever-it-was melts off of Rapunzel's face as she looks up to face him.]

Yeah! Well... part of it. It's, uh... something from home, actually. [Play it cool, Raps!] Weird that it showed up here, right?

It is. Maybe uh...maybe they're trying to trying to make us more comfortable by giving us things we recognize?

[Which is creepy if it's true.]

[... Oof, she didn't even think about that. That kind of makes it even worse; why remind Cass of her bad home, and not the Captain?]

I... don't think that really helps. I mean, exploring this place wasn't too bad! But... even if I had all my stuff from back home, I wouldn't want to stay here...

[Her smile fades, just a little.]

Especially after everything the genie told us...

I think if it does help, you're way too comfortable with being kidnapped and held hostage.

[That smile fades and he doesn't like that.]

I can't say don't worry, but they can't make us do anything, so I bet someone'll find a way out of here soon enough.

... Can't they? We might be able to figure out what the genie can do, but we don't know anything about his master. They could have magic too, but totally different...

[There's so many unknowns... Rapunzel isn't one for anxiety or constant worries, but this whole situation is pretty unsettling.]

I'm not much for mythology, but if the stories are true, genies can't affect free will or life or death...but they can give others' powers. I'm guessing whoever his master is doesn't have any powers themselves, or else they wouldn't need a genie.

...Not that that really helps us, huh?

Or their magic might not be powerful enough. When I still had my magic, it mainly made my hair indestructible and let me heal others.

[... wait, what]

I could do some other things too, but nothing like what the genie could do.

Or that. It's too bad he can't tell us who he serves. Even if we knew, we couldn't do anything to him or her.

[He considers those powers for a second. Healing is good, indestructible hair is...interesting.]

Indestructible hair...completely indestructible or just very strong?

[Which sounds odd, because Rapunzel's hair is currently cut pretty close to her ears. It's the sort of haircut that looks like a salvage job; cut a little too close because of another rougher, more shoddy cut.]

No weapon could cut it, and even a tower falling down and explosions couldn't destroy it. It was only when my magic started to fade that I was able to cut it.

So it'd keep growing forever, right?

...That's a lot of hair.

[Honestly, her hair looks okay to him. A little rough, but apparently some girls like that style; he's not one to judge.]

Pretty much. I had seventy feet of it, before I lost my power and was able to cut it.

[Why Rapunzel's neck isn't absurdly yoked from carrying all that around will be a question for the ages.]

That's...how do you move around with that much hair?

It was really tough to move around with it for a while, yeah. It was enough or two people to carry! But once I started braiding it up, it was much more manageable, even if it still went down to my feet...
