our hearts stay warm cause they are filled with hope

[Okay, well. That happened! It's probably like 2pm right now, because this all happened at like 4am! So anyway, Sugarplum has set out the rest of her cake from Tuesday out in the lobby. It's just the bottom layer, and the fondant's seen better days but! It's cake!

This isn't exactly a party, per se, but there's also juice and water set out. And it's the salon, so there's alcohol if you're into that. Also there's pancakes! Listen, Sugarplum only knows how to make a limited amount of non-baked good food and the list pretty much starts and ends with pancakes.

Everyone got an invitation, since presumably they would want to wash . . . up.]

Everyone is welcome to join me in the salon for a meal.

[The meal is pancakes and cake. Look, Sugarplum's only got the vaguest idea of what humans eat, okay? That seemed sufficient for her.]

I'm... I'm okay.

[... sighs]

I-I-I mean, not really, but I'm trying to be? I'm just... wondering whether or not my dad is still okay, or...

[Bill didn't succeed in getting away with the murder. Does that mean the lives of those we care about are still on the line?]

[Ah.]

So... he's the guy in your photo, isn't he?

[He bites his lip, taking a sharp breath in and a slow breath out.]

...I'd think Blue would know the answer to that. We could try asking him, to be sure... [He fiddles with a grape between his fingers, still trying to stay grounded in the present.] You've got enough on your plate being here as it is, it's not right that you'd have to worry about your own father on top of it.

Yeah, that's him.

[...]

There was a lot going on before I got here, and the last thing I remember is running away telling my Dad that he wasn't... wasn't good at listening to me when I tried to tell him something important. I don't know if he's still looking for me right now.

...sorry to hear that- I, uh... [He rubs the back of his neck, awkward and uncertain, struggling for words.] Being upfront with your old man, and all... it's scary. Takes a lotta guts to speak up. [Not that he has any experience.] But it sounds like something you had to do.

[There's a palpable silence, as Kronk wishes, genuinely, that he could confidently reassure Little everything will be alright. Not just "you're going to survive"- he can't bring himself to consider the alternative. But... "your father will come to accept and love you unconditionally". ...but as much as he wants to, it's hard to give that reassurance with any sincerity when he himself has gone out of his way to dodge confrontation to avoid the despair Little's living in now.]

...what was it you were trying to tell him, anyway? I can hear you out.

Uh, well... I don't know if you read the profiles here, but there was this thing that happened a year ago when a piece of the sky fell and hit me on the head.

[A pause, and then he sighs--]

A-a-and look, I know that sounds crazy when said out loud, but it really was a piece of the sky, sort of. Shaped like a stop sign, had blue sky and cloud on it. I couldn't find it though after it hit me, and everyone in town got mad because I had raised the alarm over "nothing" and was embarrassing my dad by acting "crazy". Ever since then, I've... well, been the town's pariah.

[And his dad did nothing to help or stand up for him or... really anything. Just told him to keep his head down and not embarrass himself anymore.]

I finally had my chance to set things right and make up for it, and I even found proof of what had happened with the sky because it turned out it was... for aliens? They had them on the bottom of their ships to try to blend in... I'm still kind of trying to understand that part, but--but even after seeing the proof with his own eyes he still wouldn't... stop and listen to me at all.
