Second Trial

[Once again, it's time for the trial. Once again, the floor of the lobby opens up to lead you down to the trial room. Genie can be found in the center of the stage, smoking a pipe and donning a deerstalker hat.]

It's elementary, my dear Watson. [He paces around the stage, peering through a comically large magnifying glass.] You know how this goes, folks. Find the culprit, do the thing.

[He grimaces, whisking away his costume and rubbing his head.]

I gotta say, this one is...kind of a doozy. I can try and clear some things up--as long as I'm allowed to.

[He glances nervously at the birds up above, which continue to chatter amongst themselves.]

[ TRIAL START! ]

Yeah, it was definitely something someone put together, not... the mask didn't give them a catapult or anything.

Can a singular person actually build a whole, body-chucking catapult all by themselves? That sounds difficult.

If you know how, but... it was definitely more involved than it had to be, if you just wanted a catapult. It had a lever mechanism and everything.

I think Mim and I are the last people with significant magic and since mine decidedly does not work like that, it might be easier to ask if anyone was building something this week?

Suppose so... Buuut if magic's out of the question, then we've gotta be working under the assumption that whoever did this must've had some help, right?

Yes, I suppose the question is really how many people are involved? We know Cecil and Yzma were, but was it only a third person or was there two separate people who happened to commit murder on the same night?

Maybe either Cecil or Yzma tried to kill the other, and a third person jumped in to finish off the... the survivor?

[Ugh, talking about this just puts a seriously bad taste in her mouth. She was fine playing investigator when it came to Atilla, but actual murder...]

Whoever built the catapult could've been the one who tried to murder the other first. I don't think a third person would've been able to build that while other horrible things were going on close by.
