THIRD TRIAL

[Once again, you make your way to the lobby of the Adventurers Club. Once again, you make you way down the stairs to the trial room that awaits you below the surface. Today, however, the birds seem to be occupied by something other than the excitement of murder. Whispers are exchanged, and although no sentences can be made out, you might hear the occasional word--enough to know that they're talking about wishes.

Before the weight of the conversation begins to settle in, Genie appears in the center of the stage, glancing around at the podiums.]

Wow, the crowd's really starting to thin out, huh? [He lets out a nervous chuckle.] Y'know, I don't...think I've asked my master what happens if this keeps happening until nobody's left.

[He looks like he's about to add something else, but glances towards the birds on the ceiling and decides against it. Third times the charm, right?]

Ah, not that I could see. It was mostly contained to outside, like there was a short tussle and then a chase towards Jessica's.

Then the attacker must have taken her by surprise, and one of them was disarmed. If it was Daisy, that might explain why the knife was just left behind.

I suppose so? But then what would explain the knife's damage.......

[Her eyes flick over to the side. Y'know. Where X-23 is standing.]

[ Looks over. Crosses her arms. ]

You can just ask, if you want.

Sorry, I. I don't want to believe you would, but could you have caused this damage? If the knife hit your claws, maybe, as you knocked it away from Daisy.

[:( :(]

[ X-23 exhales sharply, clearly... it's been a week, man. ]

If it hit my bones without a lot of force, maybe - my claws would do more damage than that, even to regular metal. But I didn't do this. If... [ She takes a breath. ] If I did, there wouldn't have been a struggle. I'm not that rusty.

[Oh dear god and all that is good with the world Raps has never been more relieved to be right back at square one. There are even tears in her eyes from how utterly happy she is that x-23 is innocent in this.

She really, really wants to hug her. But they're not out of the woods yet, so she's gotta focus.]

Y-Yeah... nothing there was torn up, just thrown around...

[ She nods. ]

Even without my claws, I've been training to kill people my whole life. And if I really needed to...

[ She sighs and sort of. Lifts a foot up onto the podium and extends a claw from it. ]

I'd just use the ones I haven't told anyone I have.

You've got claws that come out of your feet too?

[I mean... granted, it shouldn't be a surprise, cause technically Chicken Little's feet have little talons because chicken, but... for some reason he had thought it was just the hands!]

... Where else do you have claws besides that.

[ Well that's... that gets her to blink a little. ]

Two in each hand, one in each foot. It's... bone underneath the metal, they didn't add them in completely.

[Cass exhales, slowly. She's. thinking.]
