Week 5

[Well even despite your best efforts, a murder happened, and you found out that someone you thought was a good friend turned out to be someone who'd kill all of you if they had the chance. So that's a fun way to end a trial, right?

On the bright(???) side, the last bit of the island has opened up! You can go drown your sorrows elsewhere now! Isn't that great?

Look I'm trying my best to stave you guys away from the despair that is "trapped on a murder island", go have fun dancing or something.]

[There may be more of the island opened up, but Tadashi isn't checking it out right away. Late morning on Sunday, he can be found with a sword attempting to chop down one of the island's trees.

He still wants to build a boat, and now that he's not distracted, he can work better. Though...he's in no way a lumberjack, so there's very little efficiency going on.]

[Rapunzel has been determined to find some secret way off the island for a while now, and though she hasn't been successful yet, that doesn't stop her at all. She starts with the new areas first; the statue seems... suspicious. She'll spend a while just running her hands on the base, pressing at any little crack or groove she comes across. She'll even climb up to stand on top of it; any kind of suspicious marks or anything that stands out there?

Later, she'll be back at the clubhouse, combing the trophy room again. She's pulling off anything that's hanging on the walls, looking behind them, in them if she can. Do any of the taxidermy animals have horns or outstretched limbs? She'll pull on them, looking for hidden switches. Same with the weapons; if anything looks even slightly off, she's gunna poke at it.

Basically, at any point in the day, Rapunzel can be found combing the clubhouse, poking at random displays or peeking behind paintings or flags or tapestries. She is a princess on a mission and she ain't stopping.]

...didn't you say you were going to use the catapult to do this?

[Totally not spying on him.]

[...Huh. As Rapunzel investigates the statue, her hand will encounter a series of worn grooves that seem a lot like engraved words. It seems like part of this used to be a plaque of some sort.

Does she want to read it?]

[??? YES OF COURSE??? What does it say?]

[The words are faded with wear and tear, but she can make out the following things:

Ded-ca--d t- Our Pr--d Found-rs

Of course, since the statue is gone, there's no indication as to who this plaque might be detailing.]

[... Well. That's... Hm. It's easy enough to fill in the blanks, but it doesn't really answer too much

Are there any more faded grooves under those words? If she were to, say, go back to the clubhouse and get some paper and a pencil and tried to get a rubbing of the area, would anything show up?]

[Unfortunately, there's nothing else on the plaque--it seems as though the bottom is broken off.

...Huh. Speaking of broken, it looks like the plaque can be pried loose.]

[Well let's just pry that bad boy off!]

[Looks like there's a compartment hidden behind the plaque! All that's left in there are isopods that scuttle out of the light and...huh. A medal inscribed with the Adventurers Club logo. The medal is made of bronze, and has a clasp on the back that presumably attaches to one's lapel.

Maybe this'll be helpful later.]

[... Oh. This... huh.

Rapunzel carefully takes it out; does it look old? Like it's been there for a long time? And there's no other clues in the compartment?

Also, is there anything etched into the medal aside from the logo?]

[ At some point in the lobby there's a poorly-folded paper box left out with some slips of paper nearby! A note on the box itself reads as follows:

I don't actually know a lot of names, so I'm taking suggestions if you have any. I don't really want to be X-23 anymore. Thank you.

I did. There isn't enough to the catapult to build a boat big enough for...what, ten of us now?

[He's chopping at the tree as he talks.]

[It looks pretty old and dusty--this thing's been in there for a long time. Maybe the compartment was emptied out before you all came?

Unfortunately, there isn't anything else etched into the metal. But, don't worry! That doesn't mean it won't be useful later.]

Hey! Think you could use some help?

[Rapunzel's been a busy bee today, going back and forth investigating all that she can on the island. It doesn't take long for her to spy Tadashi going to town on a tree. With a sword, and she kinda feels bad for him.]

Y'know, there's an easier way to do that.

[Rapunzel holds up something: ta-da! It's a hatchet!]

Perhaps it can be a lesser number at first. Something like two people.

[he’s absolutely suggesting they go on a boat in the middle of the ocean.]

Who could always get help later. [maybe] Obviously.

[Rapunzel is making good on her continued determination to find a way off the island, or at the very least, to stop the murders, so she wakes up bright and early on monday with a plan! She runs to the door of each of the remaining survivors, pinning a quick note there before moving on to the next.]

I found something!! Meet me in the salon as soon as you all wake up so I can show you!! Also, we might have some way of making a plan to de-power the mastermind???

[And then she's off, waiting in the salon for the others to arrive.

Later in the day, after the discussions, Rapunzel decides to try her hand at the regain mask again. There are a couple of junk items, an adorable unicorn that looks like it came straight out of Vladimir's collection, and..... oh.

Oh.

This is... this is big. Rapunzel holds the cracked mirror in her hand, running a thumb over the edge of the glass. She doesn't dare touch the reflective surface, knowing what she'll see; something the others can't see. She can't let Cass's past be revealed like that, so she quickly scurries off to her room, doing her best to avoid the others as they wander the halls...

Finally, in the evening, Rapunzel is back in the kitchen, eyeing the selection of food stocked in the fridge.]

Hm... do you think we should prepare some food, just in case? Like, if we can manage to get a raft working, we'll need food so that we don't starve before we can find dry land elsewhere...

[Just gonna grab some snacks while we're here.]

At least you had the good sense to hold a meeting where all the food is. Now what's this business about the mastermind?

Easier to think on a full stomach!

[She doesn't know how long this discussion will take, after all. Better to settle in here so they can talk and eat if they need to.]

So last week, the genie said that the mastermind used one of their wishes to make us hear those voices, right? Well when we first arrived here, he said that the mastermind used a wish to bring us here in the first place.

[A short pause.]

I was... talking to the genie before. He said that if whoever is controlling him uses all three of their wishes, they can't ask for his help again. So I was thinking, maybe if we can do something that makes the mastermind use that last wish, then they can't do anything more to hurt us.
