ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE...

The first thing you notice upon gaining consciousness is the smell. The air smells musty and woody, like the back corner of some forgotten tourist trap. As you stir yourself awake, you find yourself in a wicker bed with a soft sheet draped over you. The room’s walls are wood-paneled, and a nearby desk displays a digital clock reading “9 AM”. A singular potted plant provides the barest amount of decoration--though, the exact plant species differs between rooms. A note written in flowing cursive has been taped to your door.

MEETING IN THE LOBBY AT NOON

As you make your way out of your room, you’ll find yourself on a balcony overlooking a octagonal lobby below. Various artifacts and trophies decorate the club from top to bottom, cluttering the walls and any available surface. From here, you can clearly see that the marble floor of the lobby is decorated to look like a compass. Descending the stairs will reveal that, in addition to the artifacts mounted on the walls, several plaques have been put up detailing the lives of those trapped here--including you.

If you peer out the windows, you’ll see a tropical island sprawled out before you, overgrown with palm trees and shrubs. If you peer far enough above the treeline, you might even be able to see the ocean. No matter how hard you try, the front door is sealed shut and the windows seem impossible to break.

You've got until noon 'til the meeting happens. For now...enjoy the club, if you can.

Up-up-up. That's enough of that. I don't need the entire rundown. [She groans, unsure of how to proceed... but she is curious.] But why is your nemesis a platypus? You're fighting an animal?

We have that sort of fairy too where I'm from, but mostly we come in all shapes and sizes.

[Accursed novelization fact: Sugarplum is supposed to have a tiny fairy sidekick. Think Iago, but a fairy.]

[And yet, the words themselves more than make up for the lack of weight behind them.]

How interesting, really. The idea of intelligent life on other planets is a mere hypothetical on my world. You’ll have to forgive me for my disbelief, assuming that this far-fetched scenario is not simply the end result of my mind finally collapsing in on itself.

[Don't tell her that, she just might faint again at the idea.] I guess it doesn't matter as much for boys, but I haven't found a washing machine anywhere! I don't know what I'd do if this dress got too messy!

I'll see if I can't keep an eye out for 'em on the outside... when we find a way out, that is. [How optimistic of him to say "when" and not "if".]

Trophy Room

[... You know, she Really did not want to be in this room, but something about this old lady staring at the animals worries here.]

Is... there something wrong, ma'am?

[Because you look Way too excited about seeing dead animals.]

Oh? No, no, nothing wrong. Nothing wrong whatsoever.

[The smile on her face is getting creepier by the second.]

She should leave, but since she can't exactly escape the building.]

Are you sure? You seem to be acting... strange.

[She's trying So Hard to be gentle because for all she knows this could be a murderer.]

What? You can't just ask people why they're platypuses. That's rude.

[Really! It's quite rude! Heinz looks very offended right now!]

I mean, he had to go through all the paperwork and stuff to get clearance to become a secret agent, you could at least respect that. I mean, I wasn't there, but that's what I assume happens with OWCA. It's what I had to do when I registered with LOVEMUFFIN.

Let's just say that I'm... reminiscing about home.

[That... doesn't seem too bad?]

Does your home have a lot of llamas there, or are you just into...?

[Gestures at all the trophies.]

The village that the palace surveys has a lot of llamas and llama herders, yes.

[She doesn't sound particularly thrilled about that, though.]

[She has no idea what this would imply but mmm she doesn't Like This.]

Oh, so I'm guessing you're a fan of llamas then?

[She doubts it but she really does not want to think of an alternative.]

Oh, not in the slightest.

[Ah. There's that grin again. Looks like Daisy has no choice but to think of the alternative.]

[Okay she can't take this anymore, this lady is cagey as all heck.

She inhales deeply and tries to look brave as she confronts this lady.]

Okay, what the hell is the llama about then?

I told you, it reminds me of home. There's one particular llama that I wouldn't mind seeing stuffed like this.

[saurasaland]

You... you want a llama killed.

[She seems less confused and more... tired? Tired in a very "well this might as well be happening"]

What could a llama do to you that you'd have a personal vendetta against it?

Betray me, attempt to get me fired, attempt to ruin my life...

[saurasaland]

[Yeah

This really might as well be happening.]

Did the llama intentionally try to do that?

[At this point sentient llamas might as well be a thing.]

Oh, absolutely. He was always a spoiled little brat. I don't know how he turned out that way. I tried to raise him right.

[saurasaland]

[She actually... relaxes a bit at that? She can actually easily buy the idea of a sentient llama trying to screw a lady over. It's honestly not THAT unbelievable with what she's been through.]

For a moment I thought you had a thing against non-sentient llamas. So this llama was like a child to you?
