ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE...

The first thing you notice upon gaining consciousness is the smell. The air smells musty and woody, like the back corner of some forgotten tourist trap. As you stir yourself awake, you find yourself in a wicker bed with a soft sheet draped over you. The room’s walls are wood-paneled, and a nearby desk displays a digital clock reading “9 AM”. A singular potted plant provides the barest amount of decoration--though, the exact plant species differs between rooms. A note written in flowing cursive has been taped to your door.

MEETING IN THE LOBBY AT NOON

As you make your way out of your room, you’ll find yourself on a balcony overlooking a octagonal lobby below. Various artifacts and trophies decorate the club from top to bottom, cluttering the walls and any available surface. From here, you can clearly see that the marble floor of the lobby is decorated to look like a compass. Descending the stairs will reveal that, in addition to the artifacts mounted on the walls, several plaques have been put up detailing the lives of those trapped here--including you.

If you peer out the windows, you’ll see a tropical island sprawled out before you, overgrown with palm trees and shrubs. If you peer far enough above the treeline, you might even be able to see the ocean. No matter how hard you try, the front door is sealed shut and the windows seem impossible to break.

You've got until noon 'til the meeting happens. For now...enjoy the club, if you can.

Oh-! [His neck shoots up at the sound of the sudden slam, hitting his head on the bottom of the cupboard he hunched himself under. Rubbing at the sore spot, slowly shifting his posture until he's standing up straight again, he turns towards Leia.] My bad. Got so caught up in counting spoons that it kinda slipped my mind... thanks for catching it before anything spoiled.

[Oh, no. That looked...painful. Leia tries not to laugh, but there is a twitch at the corner of her mouth, an expectant raised eyebrow.]

No problem. Are you...in charge of this post? I assume so, if you're taking inventory.

[In all honesty, if Leia actually did laugh, he'd probably join in.]

Nah, just a culinary enthusiast. [He says, cracking his neck a little to get the stiffness out of it.] Wanna know what I've got to work with in this new environment, y'know?

[Why is...

How is this man so Massive. Leia feels...very, very small, looking up at him.]

I see. That...makes sense, I suppose. What do you like to cook, then?

Oh, all kinds of stuff, really- I'd say spinach puffs are my specialty, but I make a pretty mean raisin bread, too. [Is that the first time "mean" and "raisin bread" have shared the same zipcode in a sentence?] Got any favorites, yourself?

Spinach puffs, [Leia echoes, sounding slightly amused. His question has her thinking, just for a moment, and despite her terrible mood Leia's chin drops, with a tiny smile on her mouth.]

I was always fond of Mintea. It's something my mother and I used to drink on hot summer days. As far as food...roasted Gorak was always a favorite.

Oh, I've never even heard of those! [There's a genuine excitement in his voice, a sense of wonder at the prospect that there's always more to find out about food, animals- or in the case of roasted Gorak, Both.] ...Mintea, Mintea- [He repeats it as a reminder to himself.] what's it made out of? Where d'you even find a Gorak?

[A man that tall shouldn't be termed 'adorable,' but. Leia can't argue with the fact that his eagerness is kinda cute, okay? She chuckles to herself.]

I believe it's got mint in it, and Alderaanian sweet gourd. [Basically, cucumber.] As for Gorak, you can either hunt them wild or raise them. I doubt if you'll find anything like it around here, though.

[Kronk quickly files “Alderaanian sweet gourd + mint” in a folder in his brain labelled “Mintea” which goes into the comically oversized filing cabinet in his brain labelled “Recipes”.]

Oh, I wouldn’t rule it out... We don’t know where we are, right? So it might be somewhere with Gorak and sweet gourd all over the place. [...which still wouldn't make much of a difference considering they can't leave the building, but...]

[Leia bobs her head with a quiet laugh.]

Fair enough. If you do happen to come across any, I hope you'll let me know.

[And she holds out her hand; she's got a very firm handshake for someone so tiny.]

Kronk. Nice to meet you. [What a coincidence, he's got a pretty light handshake for someone so big.]

I'll see if I can't keep an eye out for 'em on the outside... when we find a way out, that is. [How optimistic of him to say "when" and not "if".]

[What a world indeed!!

She nods.]

I appreciate that, Kronk. So, tell me about these 'spinach puffs'. Is that a delicacy on your world?

I'd like to think they are, the way I bake 'em. [He says, with a warm laugh.] But it's so easy to make- nothing too rare in terms of ingredients, either. You just need the patience to put it together.

Could you make some with what you've got here?

[kuzcospoison]

Sure could- they'll take a while to bake all the way through- little over an hour... but it's worth it! [He firmly presses his hands to his hips, chest puffed with a relaxed confidence.] ...would make for a nice after-meeting treat, wouldn't you say?

[Leia nods, clearly holding back a laugh.]

You're right. I'll be first in line to try them.
